Favorite Things and Quirks

Last week, my IRL friend Stacy McKitrick mentioned this as one of her favorite blogs, and offered us the Kreativ Blogger Award. Yay for Making the Mundane Magical! And thanks, Stacy, for the blog luv!

To accept the award, all I have to do is list ten things about myself. I’ve already mentioned how much I luuuuuv Mountain Dew, so I’ll skip that. Oh, and Camaros, too. So here are some more favorites, plus a couple of Sheldon Cooper tendencies of mine.

  1. Favorite beer: Shock Top
  2. Favorite place for Camaro information: Camaro 5 forums
  3. Favorite pizza: Marion’s
  4. Favorite band discovered after high school: Front Line Assembly
  5. Favorite WWE wrestler: Evan Bourne
  6. Favorite color: red
  7. Favorite breakfast cereal: Frosted Mini-wheats with Fruit in the Middle
  8. I don’t do many chores every day, but I must make my bed, even if it’s right before I get into it.
  9. …and, the covers must all be pulled up evenly
  10. I can’t stand trash in my car.

I’m not going to pass the award on, since most of the people I’d pass it to have already received it. But anyone who reads this blog is deserving, so go ahead and consider yourself awarded if you like!

What are some of your favorites? Do you have any Sheldon Cooper tendencies? Do you allow trash in your car? :D

  1. OMG! I do #8 & #9, too! I refuse to get into the bed unless it’s made first. How whack-o is that?

Don’t know of any Sheldon Cooper tendencies, but I don’t like trash in my car, either. Now, dust is another thing…

  2. Red is my favorite color too and my favorite movies are Gone With the Wind and The Wizard of Oz.

  3. LOL Stacy! Glad I’m not alone! And dust – that’s everywhere around here. :)

Coleen, I’m amazed by how many people I know do seem to just toss it anywhere – like the one I’m married to – at least it’s in his truck, and never my car!

Patricia – those are a couple of classics! Thanks for stopping by!

  4. The only chore I like is mowing the lawn, because watching the nice, even grass later is very rewarding for some reason.
Favorite beers are Molson Canadian, Amstel Light, Modelo Especial (bottle), and Killkenny and Boddington’s (draft).
    This is fun, Jen!

  5. Diane, LOL! I think we all have a few Sheldon tendencies. ;) And those are a bunch of good favorites!

Fabio, that lawn-mowing thing must be like a woman I worked with who liked ironing because she liked to see the wrinkles come out of the clothes! But, I’ve heard it’s a good way to get ideas for stories, too. I haven’t tried Modelo, but I’ve enjoyed all the others!

  6. I had to google Sheldon Cooper to be able to answer that question! I’ve seen The Big Bang Theory a couple times, but I hardly have time to watch TV anymore, so I don’t know the characters’ names. Okay, so basically “anal” tendencies in a nutshell, right? I’m bad tonight. Guess I should go to my unmade bed and get some much needed sleep! I don’t think I have any Sheldon Cooper tendencies, except when my husband leaves a door (whether the front door, closet door, or cupboard) open a wee bit, I have to close it. It bugs me!

I tried a brand new beer at Yard House the other night, but darn if I can remember the name now. Stella something. It was super good. I seldom drink anymore (not that I ever drank a lot), so that beer just hit the spot with the delicious spicy tuna roll I ate. Congrats on the award, Jennette. It was fun reading your answers!

  7. When writing, the characters are the most important quality of your creation. But how do you come up with vibrant, believable characters that will move your story along and make your writing memorable..

  8. I can’t stand trash in my car either! My husband on the other hand looks like he’s hording garbage for the zombie apocalypse in his (presumably he wants a big enough pile that he can hide under it and they won’t find him). It drives me bonkers, but I refuse to clean it out because if I do it once, I’ll be stuck doing it forever :)

  9. One man’s trash . . . . Hey, that stack of napkins from Wendy’s may come in handy some day–along with the tub of Wet Wipes currently rolling around on the floor. You don’t consider cloth grocery sacks trash, do you? Or jumper cables? Or the old bathmat that comes in handy when I take the pets to the vet. Or . . . okay, okay, I’ll clean out my car.

  10. One man’s trash . . . .

Hey, I may need that stack of napkins from Wendy’s–and the tub of Wet Wipes currently rolling around on the floor. That old bathmat comes in handy when I take the pets to the vet. The jumper cables are for just-in-case. The ballcap and SPF30 cream are for sun protection, and . . . Okay, Okay, I’ll clean out the car.

Congrats on your award, Jennette! You are a creative (if very neat) blogger.

  11. OMG! I burst out laughing when I read Marcy’s comment. I HATE trash in my car but it seems unavoidable with my kids. GRRR. I am constantly pulling things (you don’t even want to know) out of there. OH! And Fabio, you’ve heard of the Roomba? Self operating vacuum? My friend has the lawn version. I couldn’t believe it when I saw the thing in action. He sits on his porch with his iced tea and watched the little robot mow the lawn. What is the world coming to?

So, Jennette. When are you going to vlog about your Camaro? Let us hear her motor purr? ;)

    Got something for you! http://wp.me/p1QtlR-143

  12. Hooray for you Jennette!

Thanks for sharing 10 of your favorite things!

I can’t stand trash in the car either. And I have to have a neat bed to climb into also. Now if we’re talking beer here. I’d have to say Pacifico. But if you have a Trader Joe’s in the neighborhood, they bottle a dark beer that is better than Pacifico and is only 4.99. So good! :)

  13. LOL Lynn – doors left open drive me nuts, too! Probably from my dad yelling at me and my brother to “shut the damn door” when we were kids. :) You probably tried Stella Artois. I believe it’s made by the Belgian brewer that bought Annheuser-Busch. I like it too.

Lynette, that’s probably a good thing! You’re probably very easy to live with. :) Thanks for stopping by!

Marcy, I’m literally LOL! My husband is the Same. Way! And no way would I clean his truck out, for the same reason!

LOL Pat – that stuff’s useful, so it’s not trash! I keep a bunch of napkins in my car, too – stashed in the center console! Bunch of stuff in trunk, too, but it doesn’t bother me since I don’t see it. :)

Debra, I think I sidestepped the trash most of the time – one child = less trash! Not that she didn’t try to leave stuff in the car when she was little – still does on occasion. I’ll have to see if I can get one of my Camaro friends to take some video next time we get together! And thanks for the Sunshine award!

Karen – I’ve never tried (or heard of) Pacifico. I’m guessing it’s a West Coast thing. :) We do have a Trader Joe’s nearby, so I might have to check out that dark beer. Thanks for stopping by!

  14. Oh no, I feel awful! I hate beer, don’t ever watch wrestling, haven’t done more than straighten my bed covers in a week, and have a slight fear of Camaros because an ex-boyfriend used to have one and scared the crap out of me more times than I can count with his reckless driving. But I loved reading your list!

How about a favorite pizza, color, and breakfast cereal? I’d say Star Pizza (Houston), green – any hue, and Honey Nut Cheerios. I am a little Sheldon-like in certain ways, but not enough in others! Congrats on the award, Jennette. By the way, I think I’d trust you to drive me around in a Camaro. :)
