Hello, and welcome to my all-new newsletter!

It’s been a while–I mean, really a while, like ten years since my last release. So let’s get right to it.

What I’ve Been Up To

Ten years is a long time (or maybe not, if you’re a time-traveler), but I’ll try to keep it brief. Soon after I released Time’s Dilemma, my husband and I started looking for land to make a move to Tennessee. Why? There’s nothing wrong with Ohio, but neither of us had ever lived anywhere else, and we were in a rut. We needed a change, and chose to have a new house built, and move to a new state.

Which we finally did in September of 2019, after several years of prep, like planning the new house, and monthly trips to check progress. Between that, some health issues, and a challenging new day job, there just wasn’t anything left in the tank for creativity, and my writing became very slow and sporadic.

I did manage to finish Saturn Society Book 5, though – more on that soon!

I retired from my day job last year, the health issues are better, and I’m back into writing regularly – as in, every day I’m not traveling or hosting houseguests. Turns out a lot of Ohioans like to vacation in Tennessee. Funny – that’s how we got to know and love the area ourselves!

What’s Happening Now/Next

A lot! I spent most of a year adjusting to retirement (harder than I thought!) and doing some much-anticipated travel.

Then I got back to writing. I have a new website (check it out, if you haven’t already) and my published Saturn Society books all have new covers! These are also on my website, and are live on all ebook retail sites.

Even better, Mythical Press is finally releasing my Saturn Society short story, “Time’s Tempest”, as a standalone. This story was originally published in the Love’s a Beach anthology, but the characters appear in books 5 and 6 and play a pivotal role, so this release seemed the thing to do. They are also planning to release Saturn Society Book 5 as a preorder. We expect these to be available in the next few weeks, and you’ll find out about it here first!

What I’m Working On

I’m currently writing Saturn Society book 6, which (as far as I know) will conclude the series. It’s longer and more complex than any of the other books, not to mention all of the details and plotlines that need to be tied up, but I’m making good, steady progress. Mythical Press is also working on a print release of Time's Dilemma, and will be updating the covers on the other Saturn Society novels as well.

Real or Fictitious?

One of the fun things about writing stories set in a real place is using actual businesses, streets, historical or famous people, buildings, events, and more. But sometimes, it’s better to make something up, for many reasons. So I’m going to toss you one of these details, and if you like, email me and let me know if it’s real or fake. Or just answer the question for yourself. I’ll post the answer next month in this newsletter. So for this month:

Seventh Street (in Dayton, Ohio). A lot of things happened there in Time’s Enemy. It’s where the office building where Tony, Violet, and Dora work is located, as well as Tony’s favorite coffee shop, Bernie’s Bagel & Deli. Prior to the 1913 flood, it was also home to Henry’s Market, where young Charlotte took refuge from the rising floodwaters.

So is Seventh Street real, or fake? Let me know (if you like), and I’ll share the answer in August.
